Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The purpose of IRB is to ensure the protection of human research subjects. Federal regulation, Title 45, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 46, requires that all institutions receiving federal funds and conducting research using living humans as subjects establish and operate an IRB.

Projects which originate at Governors State University involving human subjects are subject to review and approval by the IRB.

This website is designed to inform you about the protection of human subjects, provide you with the information on submitting a protocol to the committee, and other information on the human subjects research.
