Attending Installation
Ceremony
The official Installation Ceremony will begin promptly at 11 a.m. in The Center for Performing Arts on GSU’s main campus. All guests are asked to arrive early enough to allow for parking and seating. Late arrivals will be subject to seating as the event program permits.

Several other events will take place on and off campus during Installation Weekend. Please view the events page for a full schedule.
Dress for Faculty
GSU Faculty - GSU Faculty and Staff are encouraged to participate in the ceremony as part of the processional. Those planning to march will be asked to wear academic regalia. Order forms are available on the RSVP page and must be submitted no later than September 28.
Faculty Representing Other Universities - Non-GSU faculty planning to march in the processional are asked to provide their own academic regalia.

Directions to campus
Parking on Campus
General parking is available in lots A, B, C, and D. Directional signs will guide you to the lots on the day of the event. There is no cost for parking in these lots and special permits are not required.
Hotel Accommodations
GSU has reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn in Matteson, Illinois. The full-service hotel is located approximately 10 minutes from the university. To reserve a room, please call 708.747.3500 and mention "Governors State University Presidential Installation." The room rate of $89 per night is valid until October 19.
