Registration Validation

Once you register for classes there are three options for financial aid recipients to be validated. Your registration is not complete until you satisfy one of the options below:

If you have been awarded enough financial aid by Governors State University to cover your tuition and fees your registration is complete.

If you have not been awarded financial aid by the payment deadline, your registration will be considered complete ONLY if: you have submitted a FAFSA including all supporting documentation to GSU by the payment deadline.

If you have not submitted a FAFSA you are required to enter into a Payment Plan Agreement with the university. You are responsible to make your payments according to the agreement until your financial aid is awarded and applied to your account. Any credit balances will be refunded to you by mail.

If you have not completed all of the steps in the registration process you will be dropped from all classes.

If you do not have sufficient financial aid to cover your entire balance, or your financial aid is cancelled, reduced, or rejected, your classes are not automatically dropped. It is your responsibility to pay the remaining balance on your student account in full by the published due date. Any accounts with outstanding balances will be assessed a $100 late fee and a hold will be placed on the account.
