Tragic events at universities nationwide and increased threats at area educational institutions have focused attention on 
campus safety. Governors State University has always maintained that the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is a top priority.
GSU’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) continuously reviews campus emergency preparedness and procedures and implements new procedures to address safety issues.
GSU uses a number of methods of communicate emergencies to its students, faculty, and staff. Collectively, these different tools (including the GSU website, ReGroup, and campus media) help ensure that important information is disseminated as quickly as possible.
The resources contained within this website are designed to assist the GSU community in the prevention of and response to emergency situations.
