Configure Toolbar Popup Blockers
WebCT 6 uses Popup Windows Extensively. The following tutorials will help configure
Internet Explorer, Yahoo and Google toolbars to allow pop-ups when you are logged
into WebCT.
The following tutorials can be applied to other browsers and toolbars using their
menu options to perform the following tasks.
Turn off Tabbed Browsing
The new Tabbed Browsing feature in Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 needs to
be turned off before entering your course. This feature can prevent some of the
course tools from functioning correctly.
Install a compatible version of Java
WebCT requires a compatible version of Java on your computer. The
current compatible version of Java is 1.6 update 3 or higher.
WebCT does a browser check to insure your web browser is setup correctly: it
checks the Browser version, Cookies, Javascript, Pop-up blocker, and Java;
sometimes, the current Java runtime software installed on your computer is not
compatible.
If your version of Java is not 1.6.0_03 or higher you wil need to remove the older
version to avoid course problems.
If you have multiple versions installed you will need to remove them all. Click
on the link below to read the instructions on removing Java from your computer.
You will need to install the latest version of Java after you have uninstalled all
incompatible versions of Java . Click the link below.

course. Check your software documentation to configure your software correctly.
