Pursue initiatives that make GSU a preferred destination in the region, that create a vibrant public dialogue, and that increase the university’s effectiveness as an economic catalyst in the region.

Build regional community awareness through increased programming that will promote/disseminate a vibrant public dialogue and create a virtual public square using the cable channel, streaming web video, enhancements to our website and the campus video monitor system.

Initial pilot program on election issues in October 08. 

2nd pilot on “The Art of the Kuba”

Develop new production system to increase productivity and speed of production in venues outside of studios.

Support 40th Anniversary and other special events with TV and streaming video.

Based on these experiences, further opportunities will be identified and carried out.

Goal of at least one new program per month.

DLMD Production Staff (Labriola)

DLMD Director and Engineering Staff.  System ready for use, March 2009.

4 lectures in series “Civic & Community Engagement” to be produced/aired in March/April 2009

Ongoing – DLMD Director will do initial review, consulting with Public Affairs and work with production team to determine feasibility.

Completed production. Evaluation of outcomes, & resources required.

Program completed and aired within 3 days. TV, Website, DVD.

Production staff will use system and provide feedback on further refinements.

Programs availability on cable channel and website.

Develop promotional programming that publicizes GSU academic and community resources/initiatives on our cable channel, the Internet and potentially through other media outlets, engaging students in every level possible. 

Promotional video about the new parking lots as an example of environmental responsibility and GSU’s Green initiative.
