 MHS in Addictions Studies  — Addictions Counseling Concentration 

Welcome to the Master of Health Science (MHS) in Addiction Studies - Addictions Counseling Concentration offered by the Department of Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health of Governors State University.

The Addictions Counseling Concentration begins in the Fall and Spring semester.

You are eligible to apply for the MHS in Addictions Studies - Addictions Counseling Concentration if you meet the following criteria:

1. Current student in the MHS in Addictions Studies Program;
2. Achieved candidacy status;
3. Have no grade of "C" or less in any core courses; and
4. Have a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher in all completed core courses.

Application Deadline

Please read the following instructions carefully to insure that your application will be processed in a timely manner. If you need any assistance or have questions, please contact the department at 708.534.4910. 

Please note: The Application Deadline for Spring admission is November 15.  The Application Deadline for Fall admission is July 15.   

Completed applications must be received by the Department of Addictions Studies, Room G124, by the application deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The following are to be included in your application packet:  

1. Candidacy Application
2. Change of Status Form
3. Application for MHS Concentration in Addictions Counseling
4. Three Letters of Recommendation
5. Signed Memorandum of Understanding

Applicants will not be considered if any materials are missing from the application packet.
