Thank you for your interest in our programs. Please keep a few things in mind as you explore our website.

Knowledgeable

Our faculty members are teachers and researchers – men and women involved in business or who hold public office at the local and state level.  In other words, they do and they teach. That’s a rare combination.

Personal

Class sizes are small, providing plenty of opportunity to interact personally with these professionals. There are a range of university support programs from tutoring to mentoring to counseling services, all helping to ensure that our students will succeed. Our classes are at convenient times and locations.

Practical

Our curriculum, in both business and public administration, focuses as much on the practical as on the theoretical. Rest assured that our graduates understand theory, but they are also prepared to hit the ground running, ready to deal with issues ranging from globalization of the economy to the impact of increased to understanding the organizational dynamics of business, not-for-profit and governmental organizations.

Successful

Our graduates have a record of success: Many are successful entrepreneurs, hold significant positions in multinational corporations, serve as mayors, legislators and commissioners, manage police and fire departments or run their own businesses. They chose Governors State because we are accessible.

Accredited

Governors State University is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The business programs are also accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the public administration program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
