Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences!
Governors State University’s College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college at GSU by enrollment, (approximately 1,736 degree-seeking students for the Fall 2011 semester) and hosts over 19 degree programs including art, biology, chemistry, communication, computer science, criminal justice, English, interdisciplinary studies, mathematics, political and justice studies, and the social sciences. Please see a current list of CAS degree and certificate programs.
The college is also home to GSU’s Center for the Performing Arts, a venue committed to sharing world-class performing arts entertainment and education with the citizens of the Chicago Southland, including an extensive arts in education program for area schools.
The college is developing several new majors over the next 5 years in the humanities and sciences. Please watch for additional information as these programs come on-board. We also look forward to Governors State University’s first Freshman class in 2014.
The faculty, staff, and students of the College of Arts and Sciences are committed to the teaching and pursuit of theoretical and applied knowledge, and to the empowerment of students to become leaders of vision and agents of change in local and global communities.
