The course navigation (left) menu allows for users to click on content areas or tool links to direct them to the appropriate page.

We highly recommend keeping the left navigation menu as close to the default menu as possible. This will help students navigate through GSU Blackboard courses with ease.

  • Create Content Area

    This tutorial will discuss how to create content area pages. Content area pages are great for adding course materials such as weekly modules, web links, files, etc. Many of these pages are already created in a Blackboard course: Syllabus & Orientation, Course Content, Assignments, and Quizzes and Exams.

    This tutorial will discuss how to add Tool Links o the course menu. Tool Links are great for adding course tools such as discussions, instructor contact information, grades etc. Many of these pages are already created in a Blackboard course: Discussion Board, Instructor, My Grades, etc.

    This tutorial will discuss how to add Web Links to the course menu. Web Links are great for adding external URLs that require more attention, than just adding to a module or content area. Though we don't recommend adding several links, necessary links to learning resources are welcome.
