Explanation of Issue:
When users try to attach a file using Browse My Computer using Safari, Blackboard will show an error message.
Explanation of Resolution:
Our vendor, Blackboard Inc. Tech Support, has determined that this is related to a Safari 11.1 known issue that appears to be impacting Assignments, Discussion Boards, and Content Creation with file attachments.
Blackboard Inc. Tech Support confirmed this is a bug that is planned to be fixed in a specific future release of Learn, but that release is not yet available.
The only current known workarounds are to use a different browser, such as Google Chrome (https://www.google.com/chrome/), Mozilla Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/) or if you have a Dropbox account, you can upload files from Dropbox to Blackboard using Safari.
This issue was resolved on 4/27/18.
