Looking for a Masters in Higher Education? For educators who desire to advance in their profession and assume positions as school leaders and administrators, our College of Education offers a M.A. in Educational Administration degree. This program provides educators the opportunity to find fulfilling work in public, private or charter schools, colleges or universities and at educational agencies. In addition the program provides field and clinical experiences to ensure a successful transition from the classroom into a leadership role. During your time at the university, you will gain authentic experience and an appreciation and understanding of diversity and social justice.
Masters in Higher Education – Theoretical and Practical Experience
GSU’s M.A. in Educational Administration program offers a choice of three concentrations of advanced study that is geared to a specific interest. Higher Education Administration is one of the concentrations and is designed for practitioners and scholars who wish to pursue positions as leaders and researchers in the field of postsecondary education.
Along with the university’s admission criteria, and the College of Education degree requirements, the sequence in Higher Education Administration requires the following submissions. Students will need to provide two recommendations on the EDAD Admissions Recommendation Form. The recommendations must be completed by a university administrator and submitted in a sealed envelope. In addition students need to provide evidence of two years of experience in a higher education setting.
The other two concentration options in our Educational Administration program are Chief School Business Official (K-12) and Principal Leadership (K-12). For your information, the Professional Education Unit at GSU is approved by ISBE to offer preparation programs for teachers and other school professionals and is CACREP and NCATE accredited.
