GSU’s Masters in Communication Offers Exciting Career Options

The core curriculum for the masters in communication degree offers a broad array of practical and applied knowledge and utilizes the latest theories and research.  Our graduate students learn how to design and implement the most effective communication strategies and to develop a global perspective within the context of evolving technological, socio-cultural, political and economic environments.

In addition to the core curriculum, students adapt their program to meet individual needs and backgrounds by pursuing one of the following three sequences:  Communication Studies, Media Communication or Human Performance and Training.  Once your course of study is determined with the approval of an advisor, electives are selected to compliment your sequence.

In the Communication Studies sequence, students explore themselves and the world they live in from the perspective of communication.  The focus is on multiple aspects of human interaction with a goal of assisting students to become effective leaders who exemplify ethical and professional communication practices.  The sequence in Media Communication concentrates on creative development and exposure to television and cinema studies as well as multimedia writing, producing and directing.  Lastly the Human Performance and Training sequence develops skills in assessing performances, determining performance gaps, designing and delivering training and non-training interventions and evaluating results.
