Adult Education for Learners of Any Age

Governors State University offers learners of any age an outstanding opportunity to pursue a degree through our adult education program offered by the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies.  It is a unique program that is designed for older students and provides all of the flexibility that is required by adults who are returning to finish a degree.  In addition you will be pleased to discover that GSU offer the most affordable tuition rate of any 4-year university in Illinois without sacrificing any of our academic standards.

GSU Offers Exceptional Adult Education Opportunities

Simply by earning a bachelor’s degree, you are taking an essential step toward financial success over the course of your lifetime and the benefits keep increasing.  A report done by The College Board illustrates the gap in earnings between a person with some college education but no bachelor’s degree and those that have completed a four-year degree.  For men the difference is about 37 percent, while for women, it is around 41 percent.

The B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies degree program can be done on either a part- or full-time basis.  We offer a choice of 21 minors along with the adaptability to customize your coursework to meet your specific vocational and career goals.  Students are even permitted to transfer up to 80 credit hours in lower division courses to Governors State.  Please see our website for the complete course requirements.

GSU adult education students will find we have a highly diverse student body and faculty, and offer courses that are taught by world-class professors, not teaching assistants. In a commitment to provide students the benefits of individualized attention, we keep our class-sizes small.  The university combines the latest technology with innovative teaching methods to prepare students for rewarding careers.
