Orientation and Directed Self-Placement
Students enrolled in Governors State University are required to complete the GSU Online Orientation. The orientation allows you to assess your skills in math and writing before registering for courses. It will also introduce you to university policies.
Course registration is restricted until the Online Orientation and Directed Self-Placement has been completed, therefore it is important that you complete this requirement as soon as possible after being admitted to the university. You'll need your student ID and PIN to access the online orientation.
To enhance your first advising session, you are strongly encouraged to complete the orientation process before you call for an appointment.
To connect to the Orientation and Directed Self-Placement site, please click here. To complete the entire orientation in one visit you should plan about two hours. Some students prefer to complete the orientation in multiple sessions by bookmarking the site after completing one full section.
