The Student Life Department presents the 2nd Annual Black Women Rock awards show Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts. This show recognizes women in the Chicago Southland area for their success in philanthropy, the arts, political or social activism, business and scholarship.
Nominations for awards are being taken now. To submit a nomination for a current student, alumna, faculty member or staff member, go to www.govst.edu/diversity/. Finalists will be chosen by the Black History Month Committee.
The show will feature a fashion show and performances by De’Borah (a contestant on “The Voice”), Electric Ladies, Four Women, LAVAInk, Arletha Bolton and the Blue Angels. Also featured will be special guest speaker Dorothy Tucker from CBS News.
