Teacher Quality Enhancement Partnership

The Teacher Quality Enhancement Partnership is made possible by a one million dollar matched-funds grant from the U. S. Department of Education.

This five-year grant is facilitating partnerships between Governors State University and the local high school districts for the purpose of improving teacher preparation of GSU's teacher candidates while providing opportunities for educational enhancements in the local high schools.

To date GSU is partnered with Bloom Township, District 206; Rich Township, District 227; and Crete-Monee, District 201-U. In addition to providing real world classroom teaching experiences - microteaching and mentoring - the TQE Grant provides scholarship monies for qualified applicants to one of GSU’s Secondary Education programs: biology, chemistry, English, or math.
