FACULTY PROFILE

Steven C. Russell, Ph.D., is Professor of Special Education, and coordinator of the graduate program in Multicategorical Special Education at GSU. He has been in higher education for the past 43 years, serving as a faculty member and an administrator at four universities. He has authored or coauthored grants nearly reaching $2,000,000; presented more than 150 peer-reviewed presentations; published three books, six chapters in books, 16 peer-reviewed articles, and more than 20 proceedings. He has served as editor and co-editor of two journals in the field of learning disabilities.

Relative to service, he has served on any number of committees, councils, and the like; most recently, he has served here at GSU on the Academic Master Plan Committee, the Academic Program Review and Elimination Committee, the General Education Task Force, the General Education Implementation Committee, and the General Education Council. He is a Fellow in the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities. Finally, he has received the Learning Disabilities Association of America’s highest award for recognition and appreciation of outstanding leadership in the field of learning disabilities.
