Governors State University to host “Doing Business with China”

University Park, June 7, 2005 – The College of Business and Public Administration, the CenterPoint Small Business Development Center, and the Global Trade Center at Governors State University are jointly sponsoring a public service program, “Doing Business with China,” with the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce on Friday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Engbretson Hall, Governors State University.

The program is targeted at small and medium-sized businesses in the south Chicago suburbs which are interested in pursuing trading opportunities with China.

Mr. Liang Gang, Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of PRC in Chicago, will make a presentation on the current trade policies and environment in China.

Mr. Zhigang Ren of Illinois Department of Commercial and Economic Opportunity will present his assessment of opportunities for trade with China.

Professors Dashan Cui and Jun Zhao of Governors State University will discuss the strategies and challenges of entering the Chinese market, as well as communicating and negotiating with Chinese business people.

A small group of area businesses that are currently doing business with China will lead a lunch panel discussion.
