SLATE Announces Into the Woods Cast
University Park, IL, June 12, 2009 – More than 150 people recently auditioned for a role in “Into the Woods.” The Stephen Sondheim musical is the inaugural production of the Southland Area Theatre Ensemble at Governors State University.
“We were overwhelmed by the talent of everyone who auditioned,” said J.R. Rose, director of the production. “From soccer moms to individuals with professional experience, our cast mirrors the diverse communities from which they come.”
Performances of “Into the Woods” will take place on August 14, at 7:30 p.m., and August 15, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale on June 15 and are available at www.slatetheatre.com or by calling (708) 235-2222.
