(University Park, IL) Professional Women's Network member and small business owner Peggy Hrindak was selected as the Government Contractor of the Year by the Economic Development Council for the Southwest Suburbs (EDCSS). Hrindak was chosen based on her successful operation of Phoenix Business Solutions as a major government contractor as well as for her regular involvement in community organizations and charities.
Hrindak, along with the chosen winners in several other small-business related categories, will be recognized at the EDCSS 2003 Business Awards Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, IL on Wednesday, October 29 at 11:30 a.m.
Hrindak is the owner of Phoenix Business Solutions, LLC in Crestwood, Illinois. She is a founding member of PWN and has remained active in the organization through its Communications Committee. In addition, Hrindak acts as a guest lecturer for professional development courses sponsored by the CenterPoint Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Governors State University.
Phoenix Business Solutions works closely with business owners, commercial real estate management firms and tenants in designing, installing and maintaining communication infrastructures. The company is also a certified installer for Leviton, Siemens and Panduit, however approximately 60% of the company's income now comes from government contracting.

The Professional Women's organization is a lively diverse group of women business owners. The group, established in 2001 is dedicated to building female-owned businesses and careers.
The Professional Women's Network (PWN) was established in 2001 and currently has a membership consisting of over 150 professional women and small business owners from the Chicago area. The organization has a mission of helping women develop their careers and enhance their businesses through educational programs, resource sharing and networking opportunities. PWN is operated in conjunction with the CenterPoint Small Business Development Center at Governors State University.
