Community Announcement – Ongoing Event
University Park, IL, October 16, 2008 – Curious about the large outdoor sculptures that dot the Governors State University campus? Too busy for a full tour of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park?
In a series of “Two for Tuesday” presentations, director and curator of the world class sculpture park Geoff Bates will present a series of informal, lively, half-hour talks comparing and contrasting a different pair of works from the collection.
“Two for Tuesday” presentations will be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month beginning October 21 and continuing through January 20. The talks take place indoors and involve no walking or touring of the park, although the artwork is open for touring or viewing daily, from dawn to dusk. The talks, like the sculpture park, are free and open to the public. They are held in room D-1497, at 12:30 p.m. and again at 3:45 p.m.
The full schedule of “Two for Tuesday” topics and other sculpture park events can be found at www.govst.edu/sculpture. Bring lunch or a snack, enjoy the conversation, and learn what influenced the artists and might inspire you.
The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University is located at 1 University Parkway, University Park, Illinois. For more information, call 708.534.4486 or email email@example.com.
