After completing their education, alumni from the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), the Professional Education Unit (PEU) and the Counseling program sit for standardized exams that evaluate their competence to practice in their field.

A terminal degree is the highest degree available for an academic discipline.  Most often these are doctoral degrees.  For a few disciplines, the terminal degree is at the masters level, e.g., Master of Library Science is considered a terminal degree.
