Online voter registration resources for the Governors State University community!
In an open letter to the community, President Maimon urged students to “Make sure that you are registered to vote and that you take your civic responsibilities seriously.” In fact, ensuring that every member of the GSU community votes is central to GSU’s mission is to serve as a vigorous public square by promoting active and engaged citizenship in its students and the regional community.
National Voter Registration Day is September 25, 2012. The League of Women Voters, The National Congress of Black Women, Mass Vote, and Rock the Vote will sponsor this event at GSU from 4pm-7pm. We will register voters, hold raffles, and serve refreshments. We will have a DJ for line dancing and a National Anthem sing off. This event is open to the public.
GSU is also registering voters all during the month of September. Come and see us Monday through Thursday 1-4pm in the Hall of Governors. For more information contact Student Life or call 708-534-7362.

The 1998 Higher Education Act Mandatory Good Fair Effort for the National Voter Registration Act. The Act states, in part, "The institution will make good faith effort to distribute a mail voter registration form, requested and received from the State, to each student enrolled in a degree or certificate program and physically in attendance at the institution, and to make such forms widely available to students at the institution."
