Financial Aid News

 

 Fall 2013 Financial Aid Disbursement and Refund Information  

 

Fall 2013 financial aid will begin to disbursed to your student account on Monday, August 19, 2013. Further crediting of financial aid and subsequent refunds wil generally be processed once weekly throughout the semester. Please review the information below to ensure your aid is disbursed in an accurate and timely manner. 

 

  • If you have not already signed up for Direct Deposit, please go to Student Accounts  and follow the instructions.  

 

  • Fall 2013 tuition payment deadlines are due by September 5, 2013.  Payment information is availabe at http://www.govst.edu/paymentdates/  

  • Review and complete any outstanding requirements such as a master promissory notes and/or entrance counseling it can take 3-4 days for that information to be received by the OFA.  

 

  • Please contact Dale Hobbs at ext. 7403 or by email dhobbs@govst.edu to complete the Perkins Master Promissory Note. 

  • The Office of Financial Aid is unable to provide specific award information or amounts over the phone. You should review your status online through MyGSU before contacting the Office of Financial Aid.

The Financial Aid Office encourages all students to apply for financial aid. To ensure full consideration for aid, apply online by our preferential filing date of March 15, 2013.

 

 

 2013-2014 Federal Direct Loan Interest Rates 

 On August 9, 2013, President Obama signed the Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act of 2013. As a result, the following interest rates apply to Federal Direct Loans borrowed between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

 

  • Undergraduate students

Direct Subsidized Loans 3.86%
Direct Unsubsidized Loans 3.86%

  • Graduate/Professional Students

Direct Unsubsidized Loans 5.41%
Direct PLUS Loans     6.41%

  • Parents
