The University Housing staff is eager to welcome you to your home away from home. The official move in date for Prairie Place is 9am on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Students, needing to move in earlier than August 21st may apply for early arrival through the Take Care of Housing Related Business Page, which can be accessed here. Early arrival begins on August 10th and a nightly cost based on your assigned room type will be billed to your student account.
As you prepare for your move, here are some helpful guidelines and tips:
- Check-In will begin at 9am at the front desk of Prairie Place on August 21, 2014. If you are arriving earlier, specific information about early arrival check-in will be sent to you in early August.
- Students must show a photo ID before receiving their room key. Keys can only be issued to students.
What to Bring and Not Bring
It is a good idea to have a conversation with your room/apartment mate(s) to plan who is bringing what for the room/apartment as space can be limited. A suggested list of what to bring can be found here.
Because of safety concerns, certain items are not permitted in the residence hall. Please review the list of What Not to Bring prior to your arrival. More information about the safety regulations and prohibited items can be found in the University Housing Handbook.
- Monies can be added to your myONECARD prior to your arrival by visiting www.govst.edu/onecard or you may do so at the Cash to Card machine located in the Hall of Governors in the C building. New students will receive a myONECARD when they attend orientation.
