Join Our Team!!! Learn how to become a ROAR (Orientation) Leader and/or Peer Mentor

 Thank you for your interest in being a part of the New Student Programs team! Please familiarize yourself with the position(s) you are applying for and make sure you thoroughly follow the application instructions in order to be considered for an interview. Applicants can apply for both positions using this online application. The application process includes attending a mandatory information session, completing an application packet, participating in a group interview, and having an individual interview.
 Application materials are due by February 23, 2018.
Late materials will not be accepted.
Information Session
To be eligible to apply for the ROAR (Orientation) Leader or Peer Mentor position, every candidate must attend one of the mandatory information sessions. Information session details and dates are listed below. 
Application Packet
A completed application packet includes a completed online application, professional résumé, and (3) references.

Résumés must be emailed to or dropped off at A2120 by February 23, 2018 in order for your application to be considered complete. You are welcome to complete this online application before you submit your résumé. Your résumé must be professional. You will be asked to provide contact information (name, organization, email address, phone number) for your references at the end of this online application. Please have all reference information available before you begin this application. At least two of the three references must be from GSU faculty or staff. References will be contacted.
Group Process & Individual Interview

After all application materials have been received, qualified candidates will be contacted for a group interview and individual interview. If you would like to learn interview skills, feel free to contact GSU Career Services at 708.235.3974.

Information Session Details

Interested applicants must attend one information session. During information sessions, applicants will:

  • Learn about the benefits of being a ROAR (Orientation) Leader and Peer Mentor
  • Get information on pay, time commitment, responsibilities, etc.
  • Ask questions about the application process
*In order to be eligible to participate in the January, 2018 orientations as a ROAR Leader, make sure to attend one of the November, 2017 interest sessions.
