Academic Advising will help you adjust into the GSU community. We’ll assist you in your transition to college by providing correct information about academic major requirements, available campus resources, and academic major and career exploration.
During Orientation you will participate in the
advising experience. You’ll be assigned
to a learning community, select classes based on your goals/interests, learn
about major requirements and other services that will help you achieve your
academic success.
Your Orientation day will be full of
activities and workshops. During the afternoon, there will be an advising period
during which you will meet your Academic Advisor, view your Fall schedule and
complete your registration.
You will discuss your academic and/or career
goals with your academic advisor so her know what you plan to major in! (It’s
okay if you don't know what major your major will be, but you can discuss major
or career you’re thinking about.) Remember, it’s okay to start planning without
limitations. If you can have any career,
what would it be?
