22 years ago, a group of philanthropists in neighboring Southland communities donated their time, talent and resources to build the Center for Performing Arts. Today the Center welcomes up to 60,000 patrons annually, making diverse Chicago-based, touring and community theatre, music, dance and education programs accessible to all Southland residents.

Our programs are the perfect way to make connections through the arts. We welcome the community to the stage, attract customers to businesses and find creative solutions to educate students in innovative ways that augment classroom learning.

The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University creates a first-rate theater playbill/program. We offer advertising opportunities to local businesses as a way of engaging the public, enhancing the experience of our patrons and supporting local community partners. Our venue capacity is 1170 patrons. Each show is supported by an integrated marketing plan including paid media, social media, publicity and web promotion to maximize event attendance.
