GSU’s Foundation Golf Classic - June 11, 2019 

 

Golf-Classic

 

The Foundation’s annual Golf Classic is a day-long event offering fun for all involved, including 18 holes of golf, beverages and banquet following the round. Proceeds from this tournament go toward athletics and scholarships.

Price: $130 per golfer; $500 foursome

 

GSU-Birthday

GSU is celebrating its 50th birthday with a series of spectacular events! Open to the community, the events will include a Grand Reunion picnic at GSU, followed by a free concert in Park Forest including, food trucks, a beverage garden, main-stage entertainment, kids’ zone, and much more.

Convocation at GSU is a time-honored tradition, officially signaling the start of the academic year. This ceremony is a welcoming event for new students and an opportunity to recognize recent achievements of the university. Special attention is called to the 50th with emphasis on Governors State University’s steadfast commitment to continuity and innovation.

The Chicago Southland International Film Festival is a film festival located in University Park, IL and hosted by Governors State University.  The Festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers of all ages to share their work. With core values of inclusiveness, diversity, and promoting quality of life, we at GSU value an atmosphere that fosters a capacity to enjoy life through the fine arts and humanities.

Sculpture, Wine, and Dine - September 14, 2019

The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University hosts an annual al fresco benefit dinner amidst the park’s unparalleled art collection. This year’s Chair is Susan Manilow, daughter-in law of Nathan Manilow. Susan’s leadership will take this event to new heights. This landmark event provides a farm-to-table experience for 200+ guests to enjoy the finest in the culinary arts surrounded by large-scale art in an outdoor museum setting.

In fall 2019, Governors State University’s Homecoming will be an experience like no other! Students, faculty, and staff, along with alumni, parents, and community friends, will converge on campus for one amazing, multi-generational celebration.

 

Attendees will enjoy great food, music, fun competitions, reunion celebrations, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to give back to the Chicagoland community. On October 19, the Alumni Association will host a homecoming dance!
