40th Anniversary Writing Competition FAQ
What is the 40th Anniversary writing competition?
In honor of GSU’s 40th Anniversary, students, staff, faculty, retirees, alumni, and the public have an opportunity to write about the impact that GSU has had on their life or their community.
What is the entry deadline?
April 30, 2009.
Is there an entry fee?
No.
Who can enter the writing competition?
Everyone and anyone - students, alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, and the public may enter the competition.
What types of writing are eligible?
All genres are acceptable.
How should competitors submit their entries?
Entries must be submitted electronically as Microsoft Word documents only. No graphics, please.
Can competitors submit more than one entry?
No.
Is there a word limit?
Yes. There is a maximum of 750 words.
To whom should competitors submit their entries?
Entries should be submitted to writingcompetition@govst.edu.
Who will judge the competition?
A panel of GSU students, alumni, faculty, and staff will judge the competition.
What will the winners receive?
The top submissions will be published in IMPACT Magazine. IMPACT is a special publication created for GSU’s historic 40th Anniversary.
